Tasmania is sinking into a quicksand of lazines. With a 25,000 strong workforce the public service here is top heavy with Managers ,sub managers,and just plain lazy uninspiring employees.Any organisation has its Bludgers,and I am certainly not denigrating those folks that do a fair days work for a fair days pay.There are a large proportion of public servants that certainly are hard working.In fact I would estimate that about 12,500 of them are in this category.I deal regularly with the service ,and I must say mostly ,they are either on leave,in a meeting,or away from their desk with a tape recorder left in their place. How is this conduct supposed to lead to better productivity and better results. As Pauline Hanson once said....."Please explain" . The role and function,of the public service is just that...PUBLIC SERVICE.

Service is WORK,and the work ethic in this 25,000 strong workfore can be described in one very simple word  "FUCKED". Lazy, aged, low level functionaries,who constantly get sassy and attitudinize enquiries when they try to function above their limited ability and scope. Not to dwell on the negatives too much,there are also pockets of very clever,very articulate and helpful employees in the service,but they operate like an epicycle. It must be terribly frustrating for this group to be working along side these oxygen wasting jack asses who treat their public service job as a right and not a job.
